Amber Smith, Ph.D.
Director of Biobanking
Amber Smith, Ph.D., is the Director of Biobanking at RCRF, where she manages a wide variety of biologistical processes, such as pattern.org sample storage and custodial biobanking storage.
She brings over a decade of experience in cancer biology and organoid modeling to RCRF. Prior to joining RCRF, she helped lead early research and development of pioneering organoid technology at Xilis.
Amber’s postdoctoral work at Stanford University School of Medicine focused on the development of 3D organoid models using patient tumor samples. She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Kansas.
