Working in deep partnership with a small group of clients with advanced cancers, H37 explores the detailed molecular and clinical characteristics of individual client's disease to help them and their clinical team make more data-informed decisions about their treatment journey. H37 is an initiative of the Rare Cancer Research Foundation, a leader in the field since its creation in 2013. RCRF created the first-of-its kind platform to enable rare cancer patients to send fresh tumor tissue directly to researchers. RCRF is cancer-agnostic and works across institutions, sharing samples with researchers to create advances in rare cancer treatment. H37is a new initiative of RCRF, created to support advanced rare cancer patients who need to push the boundaries of advanced oncology, today.
Position Overview
As a Clinical Data Manager at H37, you will play a crucial role in gathering, organizing, and managing comprehensive clinical, genomic, and diagnostic information for rare cancer patients. You will be responsible for curating and maintaining accurate and updated client clinical timelines and profiles. Additionally, you will develop standardized processes, best practices, and procedures to streamline data collection in the future. Your familiarity with clinical data and ability to organize complex clinical and scientific information will be critical in transforming raw data into valuable insights that support our clinical and research teams in determining the best treatment plans for each client. This is a new role within our organization and requires a self-starter, an independent problem solver, and relentless attention to detail. You will work closely with our clients, health care providers, diagnostic companies and our internal research team. This role has growth potential in a quickly growing organization and interest in professional development, team management, and scaling a team is a plus.
Responsibilities
Data Collection
Create and maintain a Client Timeline that ingests and consolidates clinical, genomic, and diagnostic information.
Interface with clients, their support teams, and various healthcare systems, medical centers, biotechs, startups, and other sources to collect comprehensive clinical, genomic, and diagnostic information.
Overcome roadblocks with persistence, creativity, and a proactive attitude to ensure accurate and up-to-date data collection.
Data Management and Organization
Manage incoming unstructured medical data, organizing, extracting, and converting it into structured medical data, summaries, and useful reports for the H37 clinical and research teams.
Demonstrate the ability to identify problems early and communicate escalation issues appropriately.
Ensure that data management activities align with client and organizational objectives.
Team Collaboration
Participate in team meetings and discussions about H37 clients.
Initially serve as an individual contributor with the potential to track for managerial and team-building responsibilities.
Process Improvement
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficient data collection, organization, and inputting.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance data management efficiency.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree, preferred Master’s degree, in health sciences and/or clinical field with at least 2-5 years experience in clinical data management.
Experience
Relevant professional experience in medical data or related areas.
Experience in start-ups, technology-focused organizations, and/or entrepreneurial roles preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in technology, including Data Management and database software and systems.
Knowledge of clinical research, including regulatory requirements (GCP/ICH).
Timeline management skills and the ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures.

Proactively identify and address problems, seeking to understand contributing factors and proposing appropriate solutions.
Flexibility to change assignments and work focus to accommodate project demands.
Ability to lead in pursuing positive improvements within the data management process.
