Working in deep partnership with a small group of clients with advanced cancers, H37 explores the detailed molecular and clinical characteristics of individual client's disease to help them and their clinical team make more data-informed decisions about their treatment journey. We have already seen the success of this program in the first personalized vaccine validated with mass spectrometry in the country as well as daily wins as we work to navigate through this complex and ever-changing landscape on behalf of these patients.
H37 is an initiative of the Rare Cancer Research Foundation, a leader in the field since its creation in 2013. RCRF created the first-of-its kind platform to enable rare cancer patients to send fresh tumor tissue directly to researchers. RCRF is cancer-agnostic and works across institutions, sharing samples with researchers to create advances in rare cancer treatment. H37 is a new initiative of RCRF, created to support advanced rare cancer patients who need to push the boundaries of advanced oncology, today.
Position Overview

As a key leader within our growing organization, you will be at the forefront of driving client-centric projects, ensuring every aspect of operations and client services aligns with the unique needs and expectations of our clients. This role demands a strategic, proactive, and results-oriented individual who can navigate complex projects with clients, vendors, consultants, internal teams, and external partners to advocate for H37 clients and build an organization with a fiercely patient-centric mission.
Job Description and Responsibilities
The H37 Director of Operations and Client Services is a pivotal role that requires an experienced and adaptable leader to ensure the seamless execution of operations and services for our clients. Your responsibilities include:
Client Advocacy and Leadership: Serve as a relentless advocate for H37 clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded at every stage of the treatment journey. Understand their unique challenges and drive strategies to address them effectively by leading and building a team of client-focused professionals to achieve outstanding results.
Project Management: Lead, coordinate, and manage tasks and team member projects from inception to completion, including project scoping, planning, task tracking, dependencies and risk management.
Project Management Systems and Communication: Oversee the implementation and utilization of project management software, including working with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements, customize workflows, configure software to meet organizational needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to facilitate the efficient flow of information and resources needed for client success. Lead and facilitate team meetings including daily standups, weekly team meetings and other essential communication touchpoints to align cross-functional teams, prioritize projects, allocate resources, and proactively remove roadblocks to completion.
Vendor and Partner Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, consultants, and external partners to guarantee the successful execution of projects and services.
Optimization and Strategy: Lead the development of standard operating procedures and best practices across H37 services in order to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Finance and Tracking: Partner with finance team to proficiently track and monitor client invoices.
Problem Solving: Overcome obstacles and challenges by proactively seeking solutions, escalating issues when necessary, and ensuring that roadblocks do not impede the progress of essential projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field; project management certification is a plus.
Proven experience in project management in a healthcare or research setting.
The ideal candidate should possess familiarity with advanced oncology research and care, particularly in the field of immunology and biomedical sciences. There is always more to learn in this field, but having a foundation of intellectual curiosity about this field and proficiency in understanding and communicating complex topics in oncology research and care is essential for success in this role.
Experience with project management software (Clickup, Jira, etc) and a track record of using tools effectively with growing teams
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate complex relationships with vendors, consultants, and internal and external stakeholders.
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment and meet tight deadlines.
Independent and self-starting professional, capable of taking initiative and navigating tasks with minimal guidance. This individual should thrive in an environment where self-sufficiency, resourcefulness, and the ability to figure things out independently are valued.
